11 CMN HOSPITALS RECEIVE AFLAC CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION’S 2022 CHILD LIFE GRANT

Eleven CMN Hospitals will receive funding this month towards their Child Life programs from The Aflac Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc. (ACCF) for their work to reduce stress and anxiety for pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders and their siblings.

The foundation, a public non-profit entity of Aflac, will award each with a Child Life Grant of $2,500, bringing the total donated by the ACCF through this annual program to $115,000 since 2018. Grants support existing and new Child Life programs designed to address psychosocial needs of patients and siblings through education, comfort and play.

2022 recipients are:

  • Cook Children’s, Ft Worth, TX;
  • Ballad Health, Johnson City, TN;
  • WVU Medicine, Morgantown, WV;
  • Children’s Hospital of Orange County, CA;
  • Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, Omaha, NE;
  • UMC Health, Lubbock, TX;
  • Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital, Chicago, IL;
  • UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh;
  • Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, Atlanta;
  • Shannon Medical Center, San Angelo, TX;
  • Boston Children’s.
