The Winner of Pawgeant 2018 is…

On Saturday, June 16, Annie Alvelais, Assistant Director, Cause Marketing & Children’s Miracle Network at CHOC, had the honor and privilege of sitting on the judges’ panel for the 2018 Pawgeant.

Pawgeant is an annual local non-profit fundraiser held in Orange County, California. For the past three years, Pawgeant has benefitted two Orange County-local organizations: Patriots & Paws, and CHOC through Miss America’s fundraising partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Pups of all breeds and sizes took to the stage with their best wags, walks and woofs to compete for the title of Mr. or Miss Ameripaw 2018. A space of acceptance for both furry and feline friends, this year’s Pawgeant included cat contestants as well.

Contestants were judged on their walk as well as their costume. Annie commented on the adorable nature of every Mr. or Miss Ameripaw 2018 hopeful, however there could ultimately only be one four-legged favorite. Say hello to your Mr. Ameripaw 2018, Diesel! His confidence and cape-wearing abilities say it all, he was born to wear the crown.

We are so furry grateful for Pawgeant’s support of CHOC Children’s and are already counting down the days until Pawgent 2019. On behalf of the patients, families and associates at CHOC, thank you for having us!
