Create Change at JOANN this August

This August, JOANN stores across the country will be hosting a register campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at all retail locations across the country. As the nation’s leading fabric and craft specialty retailer, JOANN inspires customers to create and make change for the communities in which they operate.

Change can come in many forms, when you donate while shopping at JOANN the funds go to meet the most urgent needs at CHOC Hospital.  From lifesaving treatments, to specialized equipment to the things that make kids feel like kids when they’re have an extended stay at our hospital.

For Hallie Bea, change meant accessing Child Life services at her local member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. With long stays in the hospital due to needing a bone marrow transplant for a rare inherited bone marrow failure syndrome and a subsequent diagnosis of osteosarcoma, Hallie Bea needed the things that made her still feel like a kid. Child Life services help kids and families cope with the anxiety and stress associated with needing treatment at their local children’s hospital. Art therapy is just one example of a tool child life programs use to help kids cope. As an avid crafter, Hallie Bea loves to create and if she had her way, the world would be filled with glitter.

Be sure to visit JOANN for all your creative needs this August to create change for kids like Hallie Bea right here at CHOC by donating at the register.  You can change kids’ health to change the future – for all of us!
