Dance Marathons Raise Over $4.45 Million, Feb. 21-23

After a record-breaking fundraising year for the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement in 2019, with over 400 colleges, universities, and K-12 schools raising over $44 million for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the 2020 year is already off to a great start!

Over the weekend of February 21-23, 29 schools hosted their Dance Marathon events and collectively raised over $4.45 million #ForTheKids treated in their local communities!

Bowdoin College:

Bowdoin College Dance Marathon hosted their 6-hour Dance Marathon event on February 21. The students fundraised over $37,000, a 24% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

California Polytechnic State University:

Cal Poly Dance Marathon hosted their 12-hour Dance Marathon event on February 22. With nearly 700 registered participants, the students fundraised over $46,000, benefitting Cottage Children’s Medical Center in Santa Barbara, Calif.

California State University, Fullerton:

TitanTHON at Cal State, Fullerton hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 21-22. With 380 registered participants, the students fundraised $37,818, benefitting CHOC Children’s in Orange County, Calif.

Chicago Dance Marathon (Citywide):

Chicago Dance Marathon hosted their citywide Dance Marathon event on February 22, raising over $260,000 benefitting the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill. As a citywide event, Chicago Dance Marathon brings together community members who form teams with their colleagues, family and friends and fundraise prior to the 8-hour Dance Marathon event.

Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School (Fla.):

Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School hosted their inaugural Dance Marathon event on February 22. In their first year, the students fundraised over $6,700 benefitting Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Fla.

Concordia University:

Concordia University Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22-23. With 163 registered participants, the students fundraised $26,472, a 32% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Duke University:

Devilthon at Duke University hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 23, with students raising over $2,200 benefitting Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham, N.C.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University:

Dance Marathon Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University hosted their inaugural Dance Marathon event on February 22. In their first year, DM at ERAU registered 185 participants and fundraised over $15,000, benefitting Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Fla.

Grand Valley State University:

Lakerthon at GVSU hosted their annual Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 230 registered participants, the students fundraised over $62,000, a 22% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Kirkwood Community College:

Kirkwood Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 21. The students fundraised over $16,000, an 18% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Loyola University:

LoyolaTHON hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 221 registered participants, the students fundraised over $75,000, a 7% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Michigan State State University:

SpartyThon at Michigan State University hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 300 registered participants, the students fundraised over $45,000, a 11% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich.

Middle Tennessee State University:

Raiderthon at MTSU hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 361 registered participants, the students fundraised over $31,000, a 66% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn.

Minnesota State University, Mankato:

Mavathon at MSU, Mankato hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 175 registered participants, the students fundraised over $20,000, benefitting Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minn.

Northern Illinois University:

NIU Huskiethon hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 241 registered participants, the students fundraised over $28,000 benefitting the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School:

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School hosted their inaugural BulldogTHON event on February 21. In their first year, the students fundraised over $3,300, benefitting Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Jersey.

Salve Regina University:

SalveTHON at Salve Regina University hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. The students fundraised over $11,000, benefitting Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, R.I.

San Diego State University:

Dance Marathon at San Diego State University hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 21-22. With over 1,600 registered participants, the students fundraised $365,221, a 13% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, Calif.

Stetson University:

Hatterthon at Stetson University hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 447 registered participants, the students fundraised over $84,000, a 35% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Fla.

University of Connecticut:

HuskyTHON at the University of Connecticut hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22-23. With over 3,300 registered participants, the students fundraised $1,520,234, a 14% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Connecticut Children’s in Hartford, Conn.

University of Georgia:

UGA Miracle hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22-23. With over 1,700 registered participants, the students fundraised over $1,250,000, a 9% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, Ga.

University of Indianapolis:

UIndy Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. The students fundraised over $66,000, a 19% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Ind.

University of North Carolina-Wilmington:

Dubthon at UNC-Wilmington hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 2. With 225 registered participants, the students fundraised over $38,000, benefitting Duke Children’s in Durham, N.C.

University of Southern California:

Trojan Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 162 registered participants, the students fundraised over $28,000 benefitting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in Los Angeles, Calif.

University of Tennessee, Knoxville:

VOLthon at the University of Tennessee hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 640 registered participants, the students fundraised over $152,000, a 10% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.

University of Vermont:

RALLYTHON at the University of Vermont hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With 832 registered participants, the students fundraised over $140,000, a 20% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital in Burlington, Vt.

Virginia Tech:

HokieThon at Virginia Tech hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. The students’ fundraising benefitted Carillion Children’s in Roanoke, Va.

Winona State University:

Warriors For The Kids hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. The students fundraised $10,464, a 17.5% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Gundersen Health System in La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wisc.

Youngstown State University:

Guinathon at Younstown State University hosted their Dance Marathon event on February 22. With over 200 registered participants, the students fundraised over $60,000, a 4.4% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio.
