Kendra Scott Celebrates Childhood Cancer Awareness Month at CHOC

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the CHOC Children’s Child Life Team has done an incredible job of recognizing and honoring our amazing oncology patients throughout the entire month of September! From dress-up days, to special events, it seems there has been something extra special happening every day of the month.

Topping the list of those extra-special activities was a visit from one of our dedicated Children’s Miracle Network Partners: Kendra Scott. Their Kendra Cares Program brings the magic of the Color Bar™ by Kendra Scott to hospitals around the nation. Kendra’s vision began with a single children’s hospital in 2015 and has grown into an international giveback program that has touched the lives of thousands of pediatric patients and caregivers.

We were lucky enough to have three women from our local Kendra Scott store in Newport Beach, come into CHOC and create customized jewelry pieces for the patients and families on our Oncology Unit. The fifth-floor playroom was transformed into a glamorous custom jewelry shop and our families were truly touched by the opportunity to create something beautiful and unique.
