Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas serves up Root Beer Floats to families at CHOC Children’s

Did you know… that Marriott began as a root beer stand in 1927?

Founder, J Willard Marriott opened Hot Shoppes in Washington DC. 30 years later, the first Marriott hotel was opened in nearby Arlington Virginia. Today, Marriott International has over 7,000 properties in 131 countries and territories and over 1 million hotel rooms!

In celebration of the history of Marriott and its family of brands, Marriott properties host Root Beer Float day celebrations in early August as a fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas, a Marriott Vacations property in Newport Beach CA, extended their celebration to the patients, families and staff at CHOC Children’s by passing out root beer floats!

Some of the associates also took the time to help host Bingo in the Seacrest Studio with patients!

And took the time to visit Crush at Turtle Talk in the hospital lobby!

Newport Coast Villas raises over $80,000 a year and was recently honored with the Legacy Award for their ongoing commitment across all departments for support CHOC Children’s. Almost every day, the property has fundraisers for CHOC for guests to participate in!
